WiFi Security

Unless your WiFi security is setup properly you can be subject to a cyber attack. This applies even if you have set up password protection. Scanner software can monitor your WiFi traffic and find your pass word so that a hacker can get total control of your computer and find out all your passwords.

Old routers are especially vulnerable. To ensure you have the highest level of WiFi security you should set up your router to:

  • Use WPA2 security
  • WPA is OK but not as good as WPA2
  • Never use WEP security
  • Choose your own password, use numbers, symbols upper and lower case.
